About Us
Mr. Paul Ngugi is the Managing Director & CEO of the Geothermal Development Company. Mr. Paul Ngugi has a wealth of experience in geothermal energy spanning 25 years. He is a long-serving Drilling Engineer who worked as the Head of Geothermal Planning at KenGen, Olkaria, before moving to GDC in 2009, where he served as the General Manager, Business Development – in charge of corporate strategy, planning, and fundraising. He would later become the General Manager, Drilling and Infrastructure, also doubling up as the General Manager, Strategy, Research, and Innovation. Mr. Ngugi holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nairobi and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the same institution. He has undertaken numerous trainings on geothermal technology in Iceland, as well as leadership courses. He is a leader in the geothermal sector – serving currently as the Chairman of the Geothermal Association of Kenya (GAK
