Governor Professor Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o is the current governor for Kisumu County after the 2017 general election. He is the former Senator for Kisumu County and the Secretary General of the Orange Democratic Movement. He is an academician as his title, ‘Professor’, says and was the first Kenyan to receive a First Class Honors Degree at the Faculty of Social Science, Department of Political Science at East Africa's oldest institution of higher learning
